For centuries, optometrists globally had been exploring various ways in improving the precision of prescribing lenses. Since its inception, spectacle lens has progressively developed from 1.00D to 0.50D and to current 0.25D interval steps, which is developing in a more precise direction. It is obvious that 0.05D step is a newer iteration of 0.25D step and a historical technological innovation in the global lens industry.

Exploring a greater precision
Over the centuries, the quest to achieve greater precision has always been a key research topic by eyecare professionals. Since the interval steps for spectacle lenses was improved from 0.50D to 0.25D in the 1960s, researchers in ophthalmic lenses globally wholeheartedly pursued in creating a greater precision standards in optometry.
In 2017, thanks to the persistent joint research led by Professor Mo Jalie (Pioneer of spectacle lens designs) together with dozens of optometry experts globally and Dr. William Plummer (Pioneer of America optical lenses), the first 0.05D steps in spectacle lens with extraordinary precision was created in Jena, Germany. This marked a major step towards greater precision for the optical industry.

In 2017, thanks to the persistent joint research by dozens of optometry experts around the world led by Professor Mo Jalie (Pioneer of spectacle lens designs) and Dr. William Plummer (Pioneer of America optical lenses),the first 0.05D steps in spectacle lens with extraordinary precision was created in Jena, Germany.
In 2018,AccelTech Techology Inc was established by the expert team in the European Union with the aim of promoting the new generation of 0.05D step spectacle lens. PRAZIS was officially born.
In 2018, with the backing of prestigious ophthalmologists at home and abroad, PRAZIS Optical Technology (Wuxi) Inc., was established, becoming the global service provider for 0.05D lens technology and PRAZIS brand exclusively.
In 2021, PRAZIS was introduced into the Chinese market, officially launching its Chinese brand name. With the support of global optometrists and strategic cooperation resources, PRAZIS provides Chinese consumers a clearer, more comfortable and better visual experience through its new generation lens and 0.05D home visitation precision optometry service.
In 2022, the first 0.05D step precision optometry and fitting center for “PRAZIS kids”opened in Shanghai. With Shanghai as the springboard, PRAZIS started precision fitting service Home-Visit model in the cities of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou and gradually spreading to East China, South China, North China and the central and western regions.
